Mysore airport to be functional by 2007

Mysore: The much-talked about modernisation plan of an airport at Mandakalli near Mysore is finally taking shape. After much delay, the government authorities have pulled up their socks and are moving in the direction of making the dormant airport functional by 2007.
The district administration which had been entrusted with the task of acquiring land for airport modernisation, has almost done its job and has written to the State Government urging it to tell the Airport of Authority of India (AAI) to begin work since the land sought by it is ready.
154 acres of land was acquired recently and the land is now in the possession of Karnataka Industrial Area Development Board (KIADB).
