Govt yet to decide on Sahara rights

New Delhi: Over two months after the announcement of merger between Air Sahara and Jet Airways, the government is yet to decide on the fate of the sovereign parking rights that were allotted to Sahara.
Civil aviation minister Praful Patel said government is yet to frame a policy on the matter because it has not received any formal proposal for merging the two airlines. Jet and Sahara had announced that Naresh Goyal's Jet would buy the rival airline for an enterprise value of $500 million.
Soon after the announcement, Indian Airlines had sought redistribution of Air Sahara's rights over parking slots and other sovereign property.
