Transition to new management at Sahara to take place from April 1

New Delhi: The big guns at Jet Airways are poised to take control of Air Sahara. The top management of Jet was guiding the operations and Mr Shetty was the pointsman representing Jet in the ‘integration’ team.
Once the new COO and his team take over, Mr Dutta and Mr Sharma will cease to handle operations at Air Sahara. A number of Jet officials from various departments — engineering, operations, in-flight and marketing — would be shifted to Air Sahara soon. Interestingly, these officials are becoming employees of Air Sahara, sources said.
In effect, they would be on the payroll of Air Sahara even though ultimate control would be with Jet Airways through the new directors on the board of the subsidiary airline. Marketing and sales of the ticket stock have already been taken over by Mr Shetty’s team. The new COO and his team will become the authorised signatories for Air Sahara.
