Sri Lanka's budget airline set to finalize deal with an Asian airline company

Colombo: Sri Lanka's first ever budget airline, HolidayAir is expected to finalize a deal with a leading Asian airline company in the coming weeks, sources told the Asian Tribune.
The deal may even be inked during the first week of next month, when the final round of discussion between HolidayAir and this major regional airline takes place.
The airline company will initially fly to four Indian cities; Trichy, Trivandrum, Cochin and Calicut, after which it would expand to other destinations
HolidayAir initially planned to begin flights in May/June this year, but the company has now tentatively scheduled to take off during the first week of December 2006 owing to several obstacles including issues in relation to recruiting experienced local personnel to the airline including pilots.
