Low-cost IndiGo to start operations Aug 4

New Delhi: IndiGo, the latest entrant to India’s low-cost airline industry, Thursday said it will begin operations from Aug 4 and will fly to several cities from the national capital.
The first flight from here to Guwahati and onward to Imphal will start Aug 4, while the service to Bangalore will start Aug 10, said the airline promoted by the Delhi-based travel-trade firm, InterGlobe Enterprises.
Other cities that will be added to the schedule include Pune (Aug 10), Chennai (Sep 20), Kolkata (Aug 20) and Hyderabad (Sep 20).
The tariff for the service between here and Guwahati will start at Rs.2,549 and customers will have to pay Rs.3,249 and upward for a one-way fare to Bangalore. The starting fare is Rs.1,299 for Chennai and Rs.1,699 for Hyderabad.
