Foreign airlines make beeline for Nepal

Kathmandu: Foreign airlines, especially budget operators, are making a beeline for Nepal with tourism once again getting a big boost as Maoist violence abates.
Air Arabia, a budget airline of the United Arab Emirates (UAE), and Etihad Airways, the national airline of the UAE, are in the fray.
GMG Bangladesh Airlines is scheduled to start Dhaka-Kathmandu flights from next month.Orient Thai Airlines, a budget airline from Thailand, is looking at running three flights per week between Bangkok and Kathmandu while SriLankan, Sri Lanka's national airline wants to connect Colombo with Kathmandu via New Delhi.
Also among the new entrants is Korean Air that will test-start flights between Incheon in South Korea and Kathmandu for three and a half months from Nov 13.
On Friday, after nearly 18 months, Indian Airlines resumed its Kathmandu-Varanasi-Kathmandu flight with the intention of running daily flights on the sector.
