Two bullets found in woman’s bag at IGI

New Delhi: Two bullets were recovered from the handbag of a woman boarding an Air Deccan flight to Pune from the domestic airport here this afternoon.
The woman, identified as Santosh C, said the bullets belonged to her husband O P Chahar, who she claimed was a sub-inspector with Delhi Police and posted with the special staff at Malviya Nagar. Santosh said her husband was on duty last night and the .38 bore bullets had been left in her purse by mistake.
“We are verifying whether the claims made by the woman are true but we have not found any officer of this name at Malviya Nagar,” a senior police officer said. A case under the Arms Act has been registered at Palam Police Station and Santosh arrested.
