UK envoy held up at Kolkata airport

Kolkata: The British deputy high commissioner (eastern India) was caught on the wrong foot when he tried to enter the high-security area at the international terminal of the Kolkata airport on Sunday morning.
Simon C.H. Wilson and his wife were at the airport to see off their sons, Charles Wilson Rupert, 16, and William Tobbie, 12, who were scheduled to catch a British Airways flight BA 146 at 7.45 am for London. After security check, Wilson ventured to accompany his sons, Charles and William, to the security hold area. The Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) personnel on duty stopped Wilson from entering the zone. His son Charles allegedly pushed the CISF man even as Wilson tried to enter the security hold area, said a senior officer.
This triggered off a row as an altercation and scuffle ensued. Meanwhile, CISF officers rushed to the spot and tried to dissuade them. The airport police were informed and they, too, reached on the spot.
