New technology to scan for arms without X-rays

Agrani Telecom Limited, part of the Essel Group of businesses, announced on Friday that it is introducing a new explosives detection technology to quickly help India's critical security needs against terrorism.
According to Punit Goenka, vice-chairman of the Essel group, “Agrani is ready to immediately begin trials of the L-3 SafeView's ProVision low poweractive millimetre wave (MMW) body screening portals to enhance the explosives screening capabilities of our security agencies across the country.”
L-3 SafeView’s portals rapidly and non-invasively pinpoint objects made of any material, including liquid containers, rubber, wire, plastic and metal, to locate weapons, contraband and other threats concealed on the body. The portals detect hidden threats such as metallic and non-metallic weapons and virtually all known explosives, drugs and other contraband in seconds.
