For smoother ride from airport, hail Indica or a Merc

Ahmedabad: The Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel Domestic Airport (SVPDA) is planning to launch a car rental service offering a range from the Indica to the classy Mercedes on hire. The Mercedes, of course, is yet to be added to fleet which will get operational from this week.
The service has been subcontracted to a private travel operator keeping in mind the segment of visitors who wouldn’t want to be seen in cars without class. Passengers can chose from around 20 A, B and C segment cars.
The service is on the lines of metros and other major airports, especially in Delhi, Mumbai and Kolkata. It is claimed to be the first of its kind in Gujarat.
“The same service would begin at the international airport by the first week of July,” said S D Awasthi, director of Ahmedabad airport. The facility was started mainly because it is essential and very common at various major airports throughout India”, added Awasthi.
