Aero show to attract global players

Bangalore: After the Global Investment Summit held in the state recently, the Aero India 2011 would be one of the leading contenders for bringing global players in defence, civil and aerospace sectors on one platform.
Highlighting the growth, organisers of the event have said there are more aircraft from the civil aviation sector as compared to the military.
"Out of the 97 aircraft, 47 are from international participants," said the organisers said and added that there was 46 per cent of defence whereas there was 54 per cent civilian sector participation. Adding that 64 countries had been invited, nearly 40 of them were participating in the event. "We would be looking at providing a level playing field, indigenous production and export potential with this show," said a source. Adding to the big players, they said small and medium enterprises are also participating in the event.
"There would be nearly 2830 per cent of SMEs from India and other countries," an official said.
