Passengers travelling by Air India Express from tomorrow will get Keralite delicacies on board the flights and the crew will commence making in flight announcements in Malayalam in addition to existing practise of using Hindi and English.
"This is a goodwill gesture from the airline to reach out to its esteemed passengers from Kerala," said Capt Pushpinder Singh, Deputy Chief Operating Officer of the budget airlines.
The move followed feedback and suggestions received by Minister of State for Civil Aviation, K C Venugopal from passengers in this regard and the minister was keen that the Malayalam announcements should begin at the earliest on flights from Kerala.
Recently, AIR Chairman Rohit Nandan had directed a review of the meals served on board. Air India Express has now also made some improvements in its In–Flight menu so that it suits to the local palette.
