AI suspends two officials

On complaints of harassment and misrepresentation of facts in a case of appointment and training of a trainee pilot in Air India, the airline has suspended two officials found guilty.
The case relates to Astha Gupta, who had joined Air India as trainee pilot on December 24, last year but her appointment was withdrawn on December 31. “She regularly attended the training classes till December 28, 2012. However, she was told not to attend classes from December 31, and the appointment letter issued to her was withdrawn deceitfully,” said a senior civil aviation ministry official.
Action was taken after Gupta’s parents complained to the civil aviation minister, and an enquiry revealed that the letter was issued and was later withdrawn. Following the minister’s order two officials of the airline found guilty have been suspended.
