Flying from Kolkata to be costlier from Feb 16


New Delhi/Mumbai: Flying from Kolkata airport will become costlier from next month, with the Airports Economic Regulatory Authority (AERA) approving the collection of User Development Fee (UDF) from passengers flying out.
The order was approved on January 23 and will come into effect from February 16.
While Rs 400 will be charged from domestic passengers, Rs 1,000 will be charged from international passengers as UDF till March 31, 2014. From April 1, 2014, domestic passengers will be charged Rs 424 and international passengers Rs 1,060 as UDF.
Just a week ago, AERA had approved the introduction of UDF for Mumbai airport from passengers flying out of the airport, effective from February 1. Domestic passengers will have to pay Rs 346 and international passengers Rs 692 as UDF. From April 1, 2014, domestic passengers will be charged Rs 274 and international passengers Rs 574 as UDF.
