Teen held for hoax calls to Jet Airways

Mumbai Crime Branch Friday arrested a 19-year-old boy from Vapi for allegedly making a series of hoax calls to the Jet Airways office, threatening to hijack flights. The police said he had made similar calls in Bihar and Gujarat earlier. Crime Branch said Vikas Yadav allegedly called Jet Airways office from January 2012 to January 2013. On the first three occasions, he threatened to hijack one of their flights if 26/11 convict Ajmal Amir Kasab was not released. On the fourth occasion, he threatened to do the same to avenge Kasab’s hanging.
Inquiries revealed Yadav had in January 2011, made hoax calls, claiming to be calling on behalf of Dawood Ibrahim and threatened to blow up the Rajdhani and Garibrath Express trains. For one of the calls, he had used a SIM card registered in the name of his father Gorelal Yadav, and both were arrested for the offence. He was later granted bail.
