Jet Airways jumps in with Air India to offer tickets priced 25% lower


Mumbai: A day after Air India announced discounted advance purchase fares for 60 days before the travel date, country's second largest airline Jet AirwaysBSE 0.18 % too jumped the discount bandwagon by announcing a special 60 days purchase for travel across its domestic network.
In a letter sent by Jet's vice president passenger sales Jet informed its travel trade partners of these fares across the two service offerings- Jet Airways (full service) and JetKonnect (premium low cost service) on its network.
Travel trade experts say these fares will be priced at least 25% to 30% lower than the normal prices. Other airlines are likely to follow suit, though SpiceJetBSE 1.16 % completed its special sale for the lean season in January itself raking in nearly Rs 160 crore.
