Vijayawada: Andhra Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ACCI) has written letters to Union Civil Aviation Minister Ajit Singh and Chief Minister N. Kiran Kumar Reddy urging them to take necessary steps to develop and modernise the Gannavaram Airport.
Chamber president Muthavarapu Muralikrishna said that they were shocked to learn that the Central Government was examining a proposal to divert funds meant for Vijayawada airport to Aurangabad airport. If it were to happen, the proposal to expand Gannavaram airport would be shelved permanently.
