'Mopa will lead to government collapse'

Margao:  'Goans for Dabolim Only' on Friday questioned chief minister Manohar Parrikar's motives after his recent statement that the Navy will not part with land at Dabolim, and demanded the government correct its "deeply flawed stand on Mopa". Forum convener Fr Eremito Rebello warned that if the government goes ahead with the Mopa airport, it would lead to the collapse of the government on the same issue.
On the CM's statement that a binding clause has been inserted in the request for quotation (RFQ) to ensure Dabolim stays operational, Rebello said, "The RFQ is not a contract and is not binding and the closure of Dabolim airport may be forced anytime by subsequent legislations or court orders."
