On the issue of the controversial airport project at Aranmula, the UDF Government is clinging to a wrong done by the former LDF regime and projecting it as an achievement, LDF leader and former minister N K Premachandran has said.
“It was the LDF Government which gave the inprinciple nod for the Aranmula Airport project. As a member of that government, I must admit that the procedure was erroneous. However, the UDF Government is extending the error by carrying on with the controversial project which has serious flaws,” the RSP leader said while inaugurating a discussion on ‘Whether the Aranmula Airport is a Necessity,’ here on Saturday. “It is the duty and responsibility of the successor government to rectify the mistakes, if any, of the previous government and withdraw the notification without any delay.
However, the UDF has not done this. On the contrary, it has taken 10 per cent share of the project which has been shaped by promoters lacking credibility,” he alleged.
