Air India cuts down flight days

Bhubaneswar: National carrier Air India (AI) has slashed the frequency of its New Delhi-Bhubaneswar-Port Blair flight from six days a week to five.
The flight will not operate on Saturdays anymore. Earlier, it was operating on all days barring Wednesday. The new schedule comes into effect from July 15, an AI press release stated.
Reliable sources attributed the decision of the frequency cut to drop in passenger load from the national capital. The 70-seater flight used to get majority of its bookings from Delhi which has witnessed a sharp drop. Of 70 seats, Delhi used to account for about 50 to 55 while the load from Bhubaneswar was about 20.
