Mysore airport expansion delay due to BJP government: MP

Mysore: Criticising the past State government for “hindering” the expansion of Mysore Airport at Mandakalli, MP A H Vishwanath said that the Congress government would take all necessary steps for its expansion.
He was speaking after a meeting of officials from Mysore City Corporation (MCC), National Highway Authority of India (NHAI), Karnataka Industrial Area Development Board (KIADB) and other departments concerned with the airport, at its premises, here on Saturday.
At the meeting, Technical Manager of Public Private Partnership Cell of NHAI, V?S Sreedhar Murthy said that re-alignment of the eight kilometre stretch of National Highway between Mysore and Nanjangud had been approved by NHAI.
However, the State government was expected to bear the cost of the re-alignment and acquisition of required land for the same.
The re-aligned road will be 1.3 kilometres longer than the existing road. Funds worth Rs 114 crore have already been sanctioned for the re-alignment of the road. NHAI has also completed the survey to re-align the highway which will pass through Hosahundi and connect at Kadakola.
