Flybus services from BIA-Mysore launched

Bangalore: Commuters from Mysore who plan on taking a flight from the Bengaluru International Airport (BIA) can now book bus tickets to ferry them to the airport, or from the airport to Mysore, with the launch of the Karnataka State Transport Corporation (KSTRC’s) Flybus facility on Wednesday.
They can book the bus tickets while booking their air tickets, itself. The Flybus facility is the country’s first intercity airport luxury bus coach line which connects BIA and Mysore in both directions, twice a day.
Transport minister Ramalinga Reddy who launched the Flybus service, said the service will be introduced to connect places like Mangalore, Manipal and tourist destinations outside the state like Tirupati, and Coimbatore with BIA in future.
“If a commuter takes a cab from Mysore to the reach the airport, it costs him about Rs3,000. If he takes public transport, he is forced to change at least two vehicles to reach either the airport or Mysore. Both these points will now be taken care of by introducing the Flybus service,” he added.
The bus is a 40-seater and the bus fare amounts to Rs1,000 which includes provision of refreshments. The bus will depart from BIA at 9.45 am and 9.45 pm and from Mysore at 2 pm and 2 am.
