Mumbai airport intensifies vigilance

Mumbai: Access points secured, terminal entry guarded, vigilance enhanced and checks made more intensive. These are a few of the measures taken at Mumbai airport in the wake of the terror alert. Passengers travelling out of Mumbai during the long I-Day weekend could face slow-moving traffic towards the airport due to heavy naka bandi. Security checks will also be more stringent and include random manual checks of hand baggage. Though this may make the queues for security checks longer during rush hour, security officials said the measures would cause least discomfort to passengers.
Officials said that they are in touch with the airlines to ensure that passengers who report on time are not delayed.
