Trichy: A Tiger Airways flight from Singapore was grounded after it encountered a bird hit while landing at the Trichy International Airport. The flight that had 153 passengers got damaged in one of its engines. Engineers were involved in repairing the propellers of the aircraft.
The propellers that are located on either side of the wings were believed to have been damaged. An airline official said, "Passengers were offered accommodation in a nearby hotel. Flight maintenance is underway."
A senior official from the Tiger Airways confirmed that the TR2665 flight from Singapore has been delayed due to technical reasons. Rain was also delaying the work, he added.
