Chennai: Security officials at Chennai airport seized eight kilograms of gold on Tuesday.
During route screening of inbound passengers, they chanced upon 5.5 kgs of gold in a bag. While in the next bag on the carousel, they found 2.5 kgs of gold which the bag owner claimed he was not aware how the gold appeared in the bag.
The bag owner arrived on a flight from Bangkok. He has been taken into custody and a total of 8 kgs of gold was seized by the authorities.
