Sumita Vijayan killed by media fraternity in helicopter crash is alive!

Sumita Vijayan, a Kerala-born resident of UAE was flooded by calls from friends and family to check her well-being a day ago. Sumita was wrongly identified as the woman pilot who died in the helicopter crash along with six other passengers in Jammu on Monday. Sumita’s photograph was widely circulated on social media platforms and was also published in several newspapers.
The panic among Sunita’s relatives rose as she had recently traveled to Delhi and they believed that the news was true. After which Sunita took to her Facebook to clear the air about the false media reports on her. She said that she is still alive and breathing.
She said that she has little association with flying or airlines, other than her father who which is an employee with Indian Airlines engineering department. Sunita is from Trichur in Kerala. She was born and brought in Mumbai, later which she moved to Dubai. She has been living in UAE since the past 15 years. (Also Read: Helicopter crash near Katra in J&K; 5 dead including woman pilot)
The confusion about the pilot who died in the accident arose after both the women who share the same name. The pilot who lost her life also hails from Kerala and was flying from Sanji Chat on Monday to Kadakkavur in Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala.
7 people including 6 pilgrims and a pilot have been killed in the unfortunate incident.
