New parking lots at airport

Patna: The Lok Nayak Jayaprakash Narayan International Airport of Patna has decided to shift its parking lot away from the terminal building following a directive from the Bureau of Civil Aviation Security (BCAS). In accordance with the directive, two new parking spaces have been developed where vehicles would have to be parked from February 7 onwards while the existing parking lot in front of the terminal building would be used only as a pick up-and-drop zone.
Patna airport director Rajender Singh Lahauriya said on Friday the BCAS directive was sent to all airports across the country some 45 days back. It prescribed that any parking space at any airport must be at least 100 metres away from the terminal building. "The Patna airport has a parking lot right in front of the terminal building. Hence the need for new parking spaces," he said.
