One arrested at Mumbai airport for smuggling gold

Based on specific information, a domestic air passenger was caught by the Mumbai airport customs for smuggling gold on the Delhi-Mumbai sector.

Wasim Lakadawala who was travelling by Air India flight AI 865, to Mumbai on Thursday was intercepted and his personal search resulted in the recovery of cut pieces of gold bars with foreign markings totally weighing 3.116 kg valued at Rs 75.2 lakhs concealed inside his shoes.
