Grant all due clearances to IndiGo to start international flights from Chandigarh by June 10, HC directs Centre

Chandigarh: The Punjab and Haryana High Court on Monday directed the Centre to grant all due clearances to IndiGo airlines for starting of international flights from Chandigarh airport by June 10 and told IndiGo airlines to submit its flight schedule within three weeks thereafter.
The court issued directions to Air India to submit its flight schedule about starting of international combo flights from Chandigarh on the next date of hearing. The court also directed the Central ministries, including the Defence Ministry, to convene a meeting for making available all the necessary facilities at the Chandigarh airport, including the CAT-II or CAT-III landing system.
During the hearing of the case, secretary of Civil Aviation Ministry and chairman of the Airports Authority of India were also present in the court. The secretary of Civil Aviation Ministry submitted that the ministry was making all-out efforts to start international flights at the earliest from Chandigarh and assured his full cooperation.
