Airlines cash in on incoming rush

Port Blair: Airline companies miss no opportunity to mint money even if it brings misery to the cut off islanders.  Cashing on the incoming rush of passengers, the airlines have stopped bringing postal bags from Kolkata to Port Blair.  More than 1000 bags of parcels, speed posts, letters etc are lying dumped at Kolkata airport for the last 15 days.  People from different walks are very much upset about the delay in the delivery of their important documents and other articles.  Most perturbed are the candidates who are waiting for their interview call letters.

Air India, SpiceJet and Go Air bring in the mails from Kolkata but now their management has decided to off load the mail bags and cash in on the incoming rush of passengers.

When contacted the Assistant Superintendent of Post Office, Mr. Kutchwa Minj, said that due to heavy rush the airlines  are off loading the postal cargo in Kolkata.
