Hiranandani Group gets MHA clearance to bid for Mopa airport

Panjim:  The Hiranandani Group will participate in the tendering process for the new Mopa International Airport in Goa through its subsidiary, Voluptas Developers Pvt Ltd. Bids are due for submission by July 11, 2016.
The company had originally been denied security clearance but the matter was reconsidered by the Ministry of Home Affairs under directions of the High Court of Delhi.
“We are pleased to learn from the Government of Goa, that the necessary security clearance has been finally granted to Voluptas Developers Pvt Ltd,” a senior spokesperson of Voluptas told Herald.
Director of Civil Aviation Suresh Shanbhogue confirmed the development. “The Hiranandani Group was always in the fray but just that they were denied security clearance by the Ministry of Home Affairs,” Shanbhogue said.
He further stated that the company had approached the Delhi High Court, which gave them interim relief. “The court asked the MHA to give them RFP document and last month the writ petition was disposed off by the High Court asking MHA to review its decision on security clearance,” he said.
