Foreign currency seized at RGI Airport

Hyderabad: DRI sleuths arrested a smuggler from the city at RGI Airport on Tuesday night and seized 1.25 lakh Saudi Riyals worth Rs 22 lakh from his possession.
Acting on specific alert, DRI sleuths intercepted the smuggler from Hyderabad when he was about to board Dubai-bound Spicejet flight on Tuesday night. The offender had already cleared his immigration check and before he could board the flight, DRI officials stopped him. "We found the money in the checked-in baggage of the offender," DRI additional director general, Hyderabad, MK Singh said.
The smuggler was arrested and booked under the Customs Act, 1962 r/w FEMA, 1999. Officials are working on the leads to carry out some more arrests in the case.
