UoH Student Caught WIth Live Bullet At Hyderabad Airport

Hyderabad: A 28 year old Ph D Scholar from University of Hyderabad was caught at the Rajiv Gandhi International Airport while carrying a live bullet of 7.62 SLR weapon. Police said that Thungdemo N Yanthan a native of Nagaland, was carrying the bullet in a wallet kept in his baggage and was intercepted at the security check.

Yanthan is pursuing his Ph D from department of History at the Schooat the University since three years and recently completed third year. On Thursday morning, he was traveling to Dhimapur in Nagaland on a project work. He was supposed to travel through on an Indigo flight via Kolkata. While passing through the security entrance at the airport, security personnel intercepted him and handed him to Police.

“The bullet was concealed in a pouch and kept in the baggage.” V Srinivas, Sub Inspector Airport Police station. He said the student came to airport to catch a flight to Nagaland from the city.
