1,698 pilgrims leave for Haj pilgrimage

Hyderabad: As many as 1,698 pilgrims have left for Jeddah by five chartered Air India flights from Hyderabad through Telangana state Haj Committee. Telangana Anti-Corruption Bureau DG A K Khan flagged off the fifth Haj batch today at Haj House. Speaking to the pilgrims Mr Khan advised them to eat and drink less during Haj journey to avoid ailments. Minorities Welfare Department Secretary Syed Omer Jaleel requested pilgrims to practice resilience and patience during Haj. Haj Committee special officer A S Shukoor said the pilgrims in case of any problems can contact the Khadim-ul-Hujjaj there. Ealier in the early hours of the day, Prof Shukoor flagged off the fourth batch of the pilgrims buses at Haj House. Three flights with a capacity of 340 each will leave for Jeddah tomorrow at 0610 hrs, 0910 hrs and 2130 hrs respectively.
