Don't leave plane before all passengers disembark, AI tells its pilots

Air India has asked its pilots to ensure that they stay on board after landing till all passengers have alighted from aircraft.
"It has been noticed time and again that after landing even before passengers deplane, the pilots immediately disembark and are also not available during the SAFA (safety assessment of foreign aircraft) inspection. While the SAFA inspection is in progress, the presence of pilots on board aircraft is vital to satisfactorily answer the queries of the inspectors to sort out issues there and then," a circular "availability of pilots in the cockpit after landing" issued last week by AI's executive director (operations), Captain Arvind Kathpalia, said.
