AAIs area control centre starts trial run to provide enhanced safe navigation services to flights.

Area control centre (ACC) of Airports Authority of India (AAI) has started its trial run from the new technical block located on the Mangaluru International Airport (MIA) premises at Kenjar from October 17. The new technical building was constructed for installation of air traffic control services along with control tower at a total cost of Rs 20 crore and the new control tower was commissioned and put in to operations on January 10, 2015. T Radhakrishna , airport director, MIA in a communique on Wednesday stated that the air navigation services (ANS) equipments required for ACC and other equipments which hitherto were functioning from old terminal building at Bajpe were shifted to new technical building stage by stage and the process has been completed.
