AirAsia will not allow Samsung Galaxy Note7 mobile phones on any of its flights from October 17 midnight due to safety concerns.
The prohibition applies to all flights operated by AirAsia Group AirAsia India, AirAsia Malaysia, AirAsia Thailand, AirAsia Indonesia, AirAsia Philippines, Malaysia AirAsia X, Thai AirAsia X and Indonesia AirAsia X.
This follows recent ban imposed by the US Department of Transport's on the device and reports of phones catching fire.
Guests are not permitted to carry Galaxy Note7 including recalled and replacement devices on their person, in cabin bags, in check-in baggage and as cargo, said a press release.
