Airports Authority of India pays Rs 482.21 crore dividend to government for FY16

Public sector undertaking Airports Authority of India has paid a final dividend of Rs 482.21 crore to the government for 2015-16 financial year.

The national airports operator, which manages 125 airports, including 18 international ones, had achieved a record turnover of Rs 10,825 crore in the fiscal year ending March 2016. Indian carriers flew 21.6 per cent more passengers last fiscal on account of cheaper airfares due to low fuel prices as compared to 2014-15.

Its profit stood at Rs 2,537 crore in FY2015-16, 30 per cent higher than the profit reported in 2014-15.

AAI presented a cheque amounting to Rs 482.21 crore as final dividend to the government for FY2015-16 yesterday, AAI said in a release.

AAI is a consistently profit making PSU and paying dividend to its owner, the Central Government, the release said.

For FY2015-16, AAI's topline stood at Rs 10,825 crore, which was 17 per cent higher than Rs 9,285 crore in the previous fiscal.
