The civil aviation ministry is set to start the bidding of routes under the Regional Connectivity Scheme from early next month and it has sought the coal ministry’s suggestion to carry out the bidding process in an efficient manner.

The government will unveil the final RCS policy by mid-October after which it will invite bids from the airlines wanting to fly on regional routes.
