Bhubaneswar fire: Air India offers free air travel to victims for medical treatment

New Delhi: Air India on Tuesday offered free assistance to bring the injured victims of Sum Hospital from Bhubaneswar to Delhi/Mumbai for further medical treatment. The offer also provides free assistance to an attendant of the victim. “Air India offers free assistance to bring injured #SumHospitalFireMishap victims + attendant to Delhi/Mumbai for further medical treatment,” ANI tweeted.
At least 19 patients died of asphyxiation and several others turned critical after a major fire broke out in ICU and dialysis ward of SUM Hospital-cum-medical college, in Bhubaneswar on Monday. According to reports, at least 40 more persons are admitted in different hospitals are stated to be critical and fighting for their life in different hospitals in the city.
Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik directed Revenue Divisional Commissioner (RDC) to probe into the incident. Patnaik, who visited the Capital Hospital, where most of the injured were brought in, also inquired about their condition. He declared free treatment for the patients.
