Airport obstacle survey to start tomorrow

A Hyderabad agency would start the Ground Level Obstacle Survey (GLOS) for the proposed international airport in Purandar from November 10, a day after the earlier schedule.
To avoid any complications, the administration has decided to start the survey with government land. Pune district collector Saurabh Rao said the subdivisional officer (SDO) of Purandar, Sanjay Asawale, and other officials were in talks with the villagers to ensure a hassle-free survey.
"Technical people of the Hyderabad-based agency would conduct the survey. They would be moving in government vehicles. We are continuously talking to the villagers and reassuring them that their land will not be acquired forcibly," said the collector.
