Mohali: High drama was witnessed at the international here airport this morning when the security staff declined entry to Mohali Sub-Divisional Magistrate, who had come to see off the Union Finance Minister as part of his duty.
The Mohali SDM, Gurpreet Singh Thind was on his official duty, assigned by the Mohali District Magistrate, to see off Union Finance Minister Arun Jaitely at the airport under the protocol. On reaching the airport, the SDM was in for a shock when an ASI-ranked official of the CISF stopped him at the entrance and started questioning him. “I told him about my duty under the protocol but he not only declined me entry to the airport but also misbehaved with me and my gunman,” alleged the SDM.
Persuasion by other senior local administrative officers, who immediately reached the spot, failed to ‘convince’ the CISF official.
