Bigger jets boost Jet

The Indian airline boarded a total of 6.77 million passengers in the three months ending 30 September 2016, 6.3% more than the 6.37m it carried in the same period last year.

This was partially driven by a 5.7% expansion of Jet’s available seat capacity, boosted by the deployment of twin-aisle aircraft on more routes. Boeing 777s were deployed between Mumbai, Dubai and Singapore, enabling the airline to carry more passengers on high-volume routes.

“Improvements in operational performance have helped Jet Airways participate in the strong growth being witnessed in the Indian aviation market,” said Naresh Goyal, Jet’s chairman. “We have also ensured that our fleet deployment and our alliances and codeshare relationships are aligned to enrich the experience of guests.”
