Indian MoCA grants approval to construct 18 Greenfield Airports

The Indian Ministry of Civil Aviation (MoCA) has granted 'in-principle' approval for the construction of 18 Greenfield airports in various states of the country.

MoCA Minister Jayant Sinha said that the new airports will be built in the states of Sikkim, Maharashtra, Goa, Karnataka, Kerala, Uttar Pradesh, Gujarat, Andhra Pradesh (AP), West Bengal and Madhya Pradesh.

Airports Authority of India (AAI) will modernise existing airports based on various factors, such as land availability, traffic demand and operational requirements.

With an independent project monitoring and quality assurance (PMQA) mechanism, AAI will ensure regular monitoring through periodic site inspection visits and project reviews.
