Pune Airport’s ambitious project to provide a steady Wi-Fi connection to its users has not turned out be as useful as envisioned as commuters complain that the facility, which claims to have a good speed is in reality unusable.

A frequent flier and an IT professional Vikram Maurya (30), travelling from Pune to Delhi, was forced to use his phone’s internet to send and check emails. He shared, “The available Wi- Fi facility is always non-functional. Whenever I try to connect it, there’s always an error. I always use my phone’s internet due to the lack of a strong Wi- Fi connection.” However, he is not the only traveller who doesn’t want to use this facility as many claim that the available service is not only slow, but takes too long to connect.

Ajay Kumar, airport director said, “The free Wi-Fi facility is only for a span of 30 minutes and since many passengers try to connect at the same time that results to a delay in connectivity. I can understand the problem being faced by the commuters and will try to resolve it soon. We will ask the internet service provider to check the speed of the connection.”
