A Mumbai-based businessman carrying about 3 kg gold jewellery, reportedly for a Cuttack-based jewellery shop, was arrested at Bhubaneswar airport on Tuesday and handed over to income tax officials following a countrywide alert.
Bhimraj Dewasij, who was under the scanner of income tax officials, was apprehended by CISF officials after gold chains were found in his baggage. Dewasij told the tax sleuths that he was carrying them for Epari Sadashiv jewellery shop in Cuttack.
