2-year RI for the then Director of National Airport Authority

New Delhi: The Special court, CBI has sentenced P Rajendaran, then Director(Equipment) and M K Ganeshan, then Member(Finance) of the erstwhile National Airport Authority (NAA) to undergo two years Rigorous Imprisonment with fine of rupees one lakh each. Besides, N K Bhartiya, then Managing Director of M/s Bhartiya Vehicle & Engineering company, Sahibabad (Uttar Pradesh) to undergo one year RI with fine of Rs. 50,000/-.The CBI had registered the case on December 9, 1991 against the then Chairman, Executive Director, Director (Equipment), Member (Finance), of the erstwhile NAA and M/s Bhartiya Vehicle Engineering Company, Sahibabad, represented by its MD & others alleging that the public servants caused undue pecuniary gain to themselves and to the said Firm and corresponding loss to the Government in the purchase of Crash Fire Tenders worth Rs 17.47 crore (approx).
