3 nabbed smuggling gold in their rectum at Mumbai airport

The Air Intelligence Unit (AIU) of Mumbai Customs booked three passengers who were found attempting to smuggle gold bars by hiding them in their rectum.
On Wednesday night, AIU officers intercepted Akash Kumar Makhijani who had flown in from Bangkok and recovered two gold bars weighing 270 grams, worth over Rs 8 lakh from his rectum.
Later that night, the officials apprehended two passengers- Salochna Keshwani and Mohini Lalawani on their arrival from Bangkok by Air India flight, suspecting them of smuggling gold.
After examination, two gold bars weighing 100 grams each, a bar weighing 25 grams were recovered from each woman's rectum.
The gold recovered is worth over 13 lakh.
