HAL chief calls up youth to take up flying as career

Bengaluru: “It is a wonderful machine and my flying is intended to enthuse youngsters to look for flying as a career in defence or in aerospace as engineers and take-up challenging assignments”, said T Suvarna Raju, chairman and Managing Director, HAL.

Raju flew the indigenously built Basic Trainer Aircraft - ‘Hindustan Turbo-prop Trainer (HTT 40) at the Aero India 2017. The aircraft was co-piloted by Group Capt C Subramaniam (Retd).

HAL is making progress on the indigenous design, development and manufacture of a Basic Trainer Aircraft HTT - 40. The aircraft will be used for basic flight training, aerobatics, instrument flying and close-formation flights whereas its secondary roles would include navigation and night flying.
