Speed corridors planned for Navi Mumbai international airport

Navi Mumbai:  The east-west take off and landing of the Navi Mumbai Internation Airport (NMIA) will have entry and exit points at both ends. Several speed corridors to the airport will make an octopus-like grip all across Mumbai.
Cidco has planned an interchange at Kalamboli traffic junction and a cloverleaf around 2km away on NH-4B that will help those coming from Mumbai, Pune, Thane and Mumbra on the eastern end. Loop roads at Kille junction on Palm Beach road on the western end will help motorists going towards Chembur, the central suburbs, Thane and beyond.
The special purpose vehicle for the project—Mumbai JNPT port road company limited in which JNPT, NHAI and Cidco are equity holders will float a tender in March to appoint a technical consultant to suggest the designing of the infrastructure.
Chief general manager Cidco (airport and transport), Soma Vijay Kumar, told TOI on Friday, "We have suggested the infra projects as it would enable smooth and seamless vehicular movement."
